Why This Site Exists
Kentucky law treats many jail and inmate records as public records, including records held by public agencies and official inmate photos described in KRS 61.870. The difficult part is often practical. A person booked at the county jail is not searched the same way as a sentenced state prisoner, and a federal or immigration detainee uses a separate lookup tool. Rockcastle County Inmate Population is built to sort those paths by record type, agency, and custody status.
The site focuses on local detention facilities, jail roster topics, court records after a jail arrest, booking photo access, and the differences between county, state, federal, and immigration custody systems. It does not create or host official records.
What You Will Find
